Andersen & Fiene, Ltd. is a professional structural engineering consulting firm. It is directed by Douglas W. Fiene who has over twenty years of experience in structural design.
Andersen & Fiene, Ltd. is licensed by the State of Illinois to practice as both Structural and Professional Engineers.
The diversity of projects completed by Andersen & Fiene, Ltd. has fostered a knowledge of a wide variety of materials including reinforced concrete, precast concrete (both prestressed and post tensioned), steel, masonry, structural wood (heavy timber, glue laminated, and sawn lumber), stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, fiberglass and cold formed light gage steel.
Completed projects have included buildings (industrial, commercial, food processing, institutional, residential, and governmental); heavy equipment supports and foundations; parking facilities; water and wastewater treatment facilities; support systems for bulk material handling (conveyors, bins, tanks, and silos); bridges; and structural investigations of failures and fire damage.
Andersen & Fiene, Ltd. is familiar with the more widely used building codes such as AISC, ACI, NFPA, NDS, ASCE, BIA, BOCA, UBC, and AASHTO as well as various local municipal codes (including the City of Chicago). ADA, OSHA, and various ANSI requirements are also incorporated into designs.
All drawings are done using AutoCad™. Our extensive library of details keeps drafting time to a minimum.
